Yes, you can book a Badrinath hotel from abroad and pay with an international card. Most hotels that sell rooms online, including ours, accept Visa and Mastercard through their booking engine, and every major OTA accepts foreign cards. The things that go wrong are small but annoying: a card declined by your own bank’s fraud check, an OTP sent to an Indian number you don’t have, currency conversion fees, and confusion about whose ID is needed at check-in.<\/p>

    About UPI for NRIs<\/h3>

    Since 2023, NPCI (the body that runs UPI) has allowed NRE and NRO account holders to use UPI with an international mobile number in a set of countries that includes the US, UK, Canada, Australia, UAE, Singapore, Hong Kong, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Not every bank supports it yet, so check with yours. If it works for you, UPI is often the smoothest way to pay the balance at check-in.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The OTP problem, and how to solve it<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Indian payment pages often send a one-time password to confirm a card payment. For a foreign card, the OTP comes from your own bank, to your own phone. That usually works fine.<\/p>

    The problem appears when you use an Indian card or an Indian account. The OTP goes to the Indian mobile number linked to it, which may be switched off or sitting in a drawer in Chandigarh. Before you book, make sure you can receive SMS on that number, or ask a relative in India to be available when you pay.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
